Join Civil Air Patrol |
|
|
|
|
Membership in the Civil Air Patrol is a privilege,
not a right. We are looking for individuals eager and dedicated to being part of a team,
developing themselves personally and professionally and making the team stronger.
NOTE: ALL senior members submit fingerprints for FBI screening upon joining. In addition, ALL senior members and cadets over 18 must complete CAP's Cadet Protection Policy Training course before being allowed to work with cadets. |

 |
Cadet Members |
|
|
|
|
To be a cadet member, individuals must meet the following requirements:
- Be 12 years of age, or attending sixth grade, through 18 years of age.
- Be enrolled in or graduated from a private or public school or college
with a satisfactory record of academic achievement.
- Be single.
- Not be a member of the active duty Armed Forces.
- Be a US citizen or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence to
the US or any lawfully admitted non-citizen residing in the US specifically
approved by HQ CAP/DP.
- Be of good moral character.
- If a former member of CAP, must not have been terminated for misconduct.
- Be accepted by the unit and higher headquarters.

Senior Members |
|
|
|
|
To be a senior member, individuals must meet the following requirements:
- Possess the desire, willingness, and capability to promote the objectives
and purposes of CAP.
- Be at least 18 years of age or be a member of the Armed Force on active
duty at any age.
- Be a US citizen or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence to
the US or any lawfully admitted non-citizen residing in the US specifically
approved by HQ CAP/DP.
- Subject to being waived by the Executive Director or the National Commander,
any one or more of the following may be the basis for rejection of or loss of membership.
- Conviction of a felony by any court of record whether federal, state or
military.
- A pattern of arrests and/or convictions including but not limited to sex
offenses, child abuse, DUIs, dishonesty or violence.
- Discharge from the armed services under other than honorable conditions.
- Falsification of information on the membership application.
- Previously terminated or non-renewed for cause from membership in CAP.
- Any other unfavorable information brought to the attention of CAP officials
at any level.

Cadet Sponsor Members |
|
|
|
|
| Membership allows parents to participate with their children by serving as cadet
chaperon, providing transportation and supervising cadets during squadron activities. Dues are
discounted off the regular CAP adult membership and benefits are limited. |

|

Patron Members |
|
|
|
|
| Patron members are financial supporters who maintain current membership
through the payment of annual membership dues and participates in a limited capacity as
outlined in CAPR 35-1. |
