Funding and our Sponsors |

The Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit corporation
established by Public Law 476. It receives its funding from four major sources: membership dues,
corporate donations, Air Force financial support, and private donations. However, individual Civil Air
Patrol units, such as the Woodfield Composite Squadron, receive no direct funding support from
the Air Force. Our funding is raised locally through fundraisers, in some cases membership dues,
and through corporate sponsors.
So...What, you might ask, does the Woodfield Composite Squadron need funding
for?
The Civil Air Patrol has three primary missions; Aerospace Education, Emergency
Services and Cadet Programs. To accomplish these missions funds are needed
for: Cadet orientation flights, Cadet scholarships, emergency services
equipment and related mission training expenses. Through this constant
training the Civil Air Patrol has some of the best trained Search and Rescue
and First Responders in the country.
One of the long standing jokes in the organization is that CAP stands for "Come And Pay", meaning
that CAP volunteer members pay for dues, uniforms, travel expenses, etc. This joke is gradually becoming
obsolete as more effort is being made to help fund activities and make reimbursement procedures
less burdensome. Today, apart from member dues, Civil Air Patrol receives funding from donations
and grants from individuals, foundations and corporations.
The Woodfield Composite Squadron is fortunate to have several corporate sponsors which provide
direct funding, services, materials, and logistics support. Please visit their websites below,
and tell them CAP sent you!
If you would like to be a sponsor please contact us and we will be happy
to post your information to our site.
